Memorial services for John C. Scoggins will be held Sunday, Dec. 11, 2016 at 2 p.m. at First Baptist Church West Chapel with the Rev. Leland Crawford officiating and military rites at the close of service. The family will receive friends at 1 p.m. Sunday at West Chapel.
John was born Feb. 1, 1943 in Camp Blanding, Florida and entered into rest Dec. 7, 2016 in Minden. He graduated from Texas Tech and was a retired customer service representative with Citibank. John was a member of First Baptist Church Minden, the Republican Party, Tech singers, a certified nursing home administrator, licensed alcohol and drug counselor, and a field representative for Penzoil. He served his country in the United States Army.
He was preceded in death by his son Shawn Patrick Scoggins.
He is survived by his wife Susan Shadow Scoggins of Minden, son John Weston Scoggins of W. Monroe, daughter-in-law Jessica Scoggins of Hondo, Texas, and two grandchildren, Emma Annette Scoggins of San Antonio, Texas and Stryder Weston Scoggins of Minden.
