John Franklin Brown

Cotton Valley, LA — Mr. Brown was born on March 5, 1927 to Richard E. Brown and Georgia Jones Brown in Oil City, LA. Frank passed from this earthly life at the age of 91 on September 20, 2018. He dedicated his life to the Lord many years ago. If he were with us now, he’d say, “Thanks be to God, I am going home”.

After serving in the Army Air Corp in Alaska, he worked in the oil field. Frank settled in Cotton Valley where he lived for the past 60 years. He retired from Marathon Oil Company in 1991 and was an active member of the Cotton Valley Masonic Lodge #335 for 58 years. Over the years, Frank has conducted many Masonic graveside rites across the ArkLaTex.

Frank was preceded in death by his parents; his brother, Jessie J. Brown and his wife, of 46 years, Mabel Rogers Brown.

He is survived by his daughter, Billie Ann Brown; sister-in-law, Bobbie Rogers Mandell and a dear cousin, Rex Brown.
The family would like to express their gratitude to the entire staff at Colonial Oaks in Bossier City; as well as, to the wonderful nurses at Aime Hospice Care.

A graveside “Celebration of Life” will be held on Saturday, September 29, 2018 at 11:00 am at the Cotton Valley Cemetery. A reception and refreshments to follow at Unity Baptist Church.

In lieu of flowers, the family would respectfully request that memorials be made to the Shriner’s Hospital for Children in Shreveport, 318-226-3304.
