Just a little history about the Webster Parish Council on Aging, Inc…
THE WEBSTER VOLUNTARY COUNCIL ON AGING WAS AUTHORIZED BY ACT 456 OF 1964! IT WAS APPROVED BY GOVERNOR JOHN J. MCKEITHEN, JULY 9, 1964!
IT OPERATED UNDER THE PROVISIONS OF CHARTER ISSUED BY THE GOVERNOR ON APRIL 8,1968, UPON THE RECOMMENDATION OF THE LOUISIANA COMMISSION ON AGING!
THE COUNCIL ON AGING IS A PRIVATE-NON-PROFIT ORGANIZATION, CHARTERED BY THE STATE OF LOUISIANA IN 1969!
FUNDS FOR SERVICES ARE OBTAINED FROM FEDERAL, STATE, AND LOCAL SERVICES AND CONTRIBUTIONS RECEIVED FROM PARTICIPANTS IN THE PROGRAMS! ALL DONATIONS ARE PLACED BACK INTO THE PROGRAMS TO EXTEND AND IMPROVE THE SERVICES!
The Council on Aging is a Direct Services agency located in Webster Parish for Seniors in the community ages (60+) regardless of race, ethnicity, religion, or disabilities.
Some programs are offered in accordance with Federal and State policies in reference to Title III and the Older Americans Act.
There are fourteen employees at the Minden location and five additional employees at the Springhill location.
The Council is open: Monday through Friday from 8:00 am until 4:00 pm
