Students from Lakeside Jr./Sr. High School showcased their talents and skills in the field of mechanics at the recent West Ouachita Mechanics Invitational. Led by their instructor, Mr. Utley, the Lakeside FFA team participated in various competitions, demonstrating their proficiency in small engines.
The event, held at West Ouachita High School, brought together students from different schools to compete in a series of challenges that tested their knowledge and abilities in mechanics. Despite facing tough competition, the Lakeside team proved their expertise and dedication, earning top honors in several categories.
Kurt Joyner and George Clark represented Lakeside FFA in the small engines competition, securing an impressive fourth place finish. Their hard work and determination paid off, showcasing their understanding of engine mechanics and troubleshooting skills.
Jay Jones and Lealand Moore continued Lakeside’s success by claiming second place in the small engines category. Their exceptional performance highlighted their technical proficiency and attention to detail.
However, it was Cole Shirley and Modrick Franklin who emerged as the standout performers of the day, capturing first place in the small engines competition. Their exemplary knowledge, expertise, and teamwork propelled them to the top spot, earning recognition for their outstanding achievement.
