LaMa hamburger fundraiser raises $1,595 for animal rescue

A hamburger plate fundraiser for LaMa Animal Rescue held on Monday, August 24, raised $1,595 for the volunteer-run animal rescue organization.

The fundraiser was held in the parking lot of the Minden Civic Center, where volunteers served freshly grilled hamburger plates with chips and homemade dessert for $10. Organizers had expected a strong response, but the event sold out within an hour.

“We are incredibly grateful for the overwhelming support our community showed at our hamburger fundraiser for Lama Animal Rescue. We were sold out by 5:30! Together, we raised $1,595, far exceeding what we had hoped for,” said Heather Feeback, event organizer.

Feeback thanked those who purchased plates, volunteered, donated, or helped promote the fundraiser.

“Seeing so many people come out to support us was truly humbling and I can’t thank everyone who purchased a plate, volunteered, donated, or helped spread the word enough. This fundraiser was a wonderful reminder of what makes Minden so special.”

The fundraiser was sponsored by Chad Sepulvado of Seabaugh & Sepulvado, LLC, with all proceeds benefiting LaMa Animal Rescue. LaMa is a volunteer-run organization that rescues and cares for stray, abused, and needy animals throughout northwest Louisiana, relying on donations and fundraisers to help cover veterinary care and other expenses.
