The Cedar Creek Cross-Country meet brought together 14 of the best teams in North Louisiana. Even though having to run a 3.4 mile course, Alissa Lander and Eric Greene proved once again to the the cream of the crop.
Lander lead the 112 other female runners running a 19:55 to claim the championship and lead her team to a second place spot behind Cedar Creek. Zachary Kerrigan and Alaina Stiles, running their first competitive three-plus mile run, took seventh and 15th running a 23:29 and 24:15 respectively. Taynia Joiner took 33rd at 25:27. Placing 34th was Angelina Futch at 25:29. Kaylee Davis was right behind finishing 36th at 25:30. Egypt Anderson took 59th at 26:43.
Eric Greene cruised to another victory running a 17:02 over the lengthy course. Placing sixth in the 150 runner field was Cody Robinson at 17:16. Freshman Tyler Davis was 15th at 18:32. Seventh Grader Austin Nunn took 128th at 25:09.
Former Lakeside star Enrique Soto had an excellent performance at the McNeese Cowboy Stampede. Soto ran a 20:30.44 over the four mile course, which was good enough for fifth in the 50 man field. Soto was only eight seconds behind the winning time of 20:22 by teammate Enock Bor. Their efforts lead McNeese to the team championship.
