On Sept. 22, 1967, a baby girl was born to Eva Markray and Artis Moore they named her Laurinda. She was reared in a loving home. She was in the graduating class of 1986 from Minden High School.

Laurinda affectionately called “Rennie” accepted Christ at an early age and united with New Hope C.M.E Church in Minden. She was on the food committee and was a very faithful member until passing.

On June 13, 2016, God dispatched his heavenly angels to grant eternal rest to his faithful servant Laurinda Holy Independence. She was preceded in death by her late husband Bobby Sims; maternal and paternal grandparents; two brothers; two aunts; four uncles.

Rennie was a loving, caring, and giving person. If you needed or wanted something she had, you could get it. She was always feeding anyone who wanted to eat.

Laurinda leaves to cherish her precious memories: Mother Eva Markray; Father Artis Moore; Two daughters Tasheba Grigsby and Tynesa Grigsby (Bossier City); two sons Alex Grigsby and Kenyun Grigsby (Minden) a precious grandson Abreon Curry whom she reared and was her whole heart; two sisters; Tosha Taylor (Earl) Minden; Alicia Lewis of Homer; two brothers Jeff Markray (Britt) of Denmark, Vernon Lewis of Homer; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.

Visitation will be held Friday, June 17 from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. at Benevolent Funeral Home. Home going services to be held Saturday, June 18 at 11 a.m. at New Hope C.M.E. Church located at 2944 Highway 159 Lewisville Road in Minden.
