The 2026 Minden Mardi Gras Fasching Parade will roll through downtown Saturday afternoon, offering a family-friendly celebration with seasonal festivities and cool winter weather in the forecast.
The daytime parade steps off at 2 PM on Saturday, January 31. Road closures along the parade route will begin at 1 PM to allow crews time to prepare for the event and ensure public safety.
Organizers say the afternoon schedule is designed with families in mind. “The parade is a daytime event, making it perfect for families of all ages,” said organizers at Minden Main Street.
Spectators planning to line the route will have access to public restrooms placed at various points along the parade path. Attendees are encouraged to review the official parade route map, which includes restroom icons marking available facilities.
Downtown streets are expected to fill with residents and visitors as Minden continues its long-standing Fasching and Mardi Gras traditions. Parade organizers are encouraging the community to come out, enjoy the festivities and plan ahead for traffic changes associated with the event.
Weather conditions are expected to cooperate, though temperatures will remain chilly. Saturday’s forecast calls for morning clouds followed by mostly sunny skies in the afternoon, with a high near 34 degrees and north winds at 5 to 10 mph. Spectators may want to bundle up to catch parade throws.
