A 51-year-old man is accused of walking into a Minden tire shop and leaving with a microwave that did not belong to him, according to police.
An officer responded January 19 to the 1000 block of Shreveport Road in reference to a reported theft. The business owner told police that employees said Ira Miller entered the shop and took a microwave from a shelf before leaving in a black Dodge pickup truck.
A witness told officers that at about 10:15 AM, Miller came into the business demanding a microwave he claimed he was owed. The witness said he told Miller to wait for the owner to return, but Miller refused, walked inside and removed the microwave. The witness said Miller then got into the passenger seat of a black Dodge pickup.
A second witness also reported seeing Miller walk out of the shop carrying a microwave, police said.
Miller was arrested that afternoon and charged with misdemeanor theft.
All subjects are considered innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
