Local businesses gear up for holiday shopping season

by Amber McDown

Black Friday lands on November 29 this year, signaling the start of the holiday shopping season. Local businesses in and around Minden are preparing a variety of events and sales to encourage community members to shop locally.

Among the planned festivities, Red Blooms, a florist and boutique in downtown Minden, will host a Christmas Market on Saturday, November 30. Next door, the ParTEA Room will hold Breakfast with Santa the same day. Tickets include a meal with Santa, photos by Southern Shutter Photography, and a gift from Santa. Reservations can be made by contacting the ParTEA Room.

TG’s, located at 456 Hwy 531, will host its annual Twilight Sale on December 4 from 4 to 7 PM, featuring substantial discounts, food, and drinks. Meanwhile, the Minden Floral Shop will hold an open house on December 5 from 5 to 7:30 PM, offering door prizes, holiday fun, and samples from their new food line.

Many other local businesses will also hold special events and promotions throughout the holiday season. Shoppers are encouraged to explore and support these local offerings while preparing for Christmas.
