The Metal Construction Association (MCA) is excited to announce that Laiklyn Squyres of Sibley, LA, is among the first group of students to be awarded MCA scholarships.
She is one of five outstanding students affiliated with MCA member companies who were chosen as the first recipients of the association’s new scholarship program. Laiklyn is the daughter of an employee of McElroy Metal. The company is a member of MCA.
Laiklyn is a student athlete completing high school before seeking a physical therapy degree at the University of Louisiana. Learn more at metalconstruction.org/index.php/about/scholarship-recipients.
About the Scholarships
Created in the fall of 2023, the MCA Scholarship Program benefits MCA member companies. Employees and their spouses, children, and grandchildren can apply to receive funding for higher education of any type—from trade school to a university postgraduate program.
Dozens of exceptional candidates applied in the program’s first year, and an MCA committee viewed blinded applications and essays to ultimately choose the five recipients. MCA is grateful to the generous individuals and companies that donated money to help these students build their dreams.
