Loretta Young Durrett, longtime resident of Cortez, Colorado, passed away on Aug. 2, 2015 at her residence.
She was 79.
Loretta was born on Aug. 25, 1935 to Thomas Young and Mae (Wallace) Young in Caspiana.
She married Alva Eugene Durrett on April 6, 1958. They were blessed with 4 children.
She was a homemaker, loving mother, grandmother, sister and aunt. She loved crocheting, quilting and reading.
Loretta was preceded in death by her husband, Gene Durrett; daughter, Terry Lynn Harris of Minden; son, Randall G. Durrett of Cortez; her parents, and sisters, Joyce Mims, Mineola Rogers, Ruth Rutherford and brother Clyde Young, all of Louisiana. Loretta is survived by daughters; Adrena Ann Madden of Cortez and Rhonda Sue (Gil) Martinez of Cortez; daughter-in-law Sarah Durrett of Cortez; grandsons, Ronnie (Jennifer) Morgan Jr. of Heflin; Cody Morgan of Killeen, Texas; Clint (Jennifer) Morgan of Elm Grove; Lance (Nancy) Martinez of Mancos, Colorado; Brandon (Rebecca Poellet) Martinez of Fort Collins, Colorado; Scott (Melissa) Harris of Minden; granddaughters, Zerhrena (Faron) Benally of Aneth, Utah; Valencia (Jerome) Stash of Blanding, Utah; 18 great-grandchildren: two great-great-grandchildren, and numerous nieces and nephews.
Cremation has taken place.
Graveside memorial service will be held Monday, March 27, 2017 at Bistineau Cemetery near Heflin.
Family and close friends will meet at 11 a.m. and the Rev. Ruben Weaver will officiate.
