A meeting to discuss the ever-growing problem of giant salvinia on Lake Bistineau is set for Thursday.

The Louisiana Department of Wildlife and Fisheries will host the meeting at 6:30 p.m. in the Jonathan Glasscock Memorial Classroom at the Region 1 Office, located at 9961 Highway 80.

Officials say the meeting will include an update on the current status of the lake and staff will answer questions concerning the management of the lake and giant salvinia.

Space is limited to 100 people.
