Funeral services for Maggie P. Callender will be held Friday, March 15, 2019 at 10 a.m. at St. Paul Catholic Church in Minden, Louisiana with Father Sebastian Kallarackal officiating. Interment will follow at Gardens of Memory Cemetery in Minden under the direction of Rose-Neath Funeral Home in Minden. The family will receive friends from 5 until 7 p.m. Thursday, March 14, 2019 with a rosary beginning at 7 p.m. at Rose-Neath Funeral Home Chapel in Minden.
Maggie was born April 27, 1927 in Zwolle, Louisiana and entered into rest March 11, 2019 in Minden, Louisiana. She was a member of St. Paul Catholic Church and loved playing bingo and cooking.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Joe and Mary Parrie, husband, A.J. Callender, three sisters and four brothers.
She is survived by her sons, Robert Callender and wife Loretta of Arlington, Texas, Wayne Callender and wife Jill of Minden, and Keith Callender and wife Susan of Minden, daughters, Theresa Stovall of Minden, Liz Strange of Minden, Mary Walston of Minden, Patricia Brogdon and husband Jack of Haughton, Gay Lewis and husband Michael of Minden, Janice Murph of Minden, Blanche Denman of Minden, and Sharon Malone and husband Randy of Haughton, grandchildren twenty-two and a number of great and great great-grandchildren.
Pallbearers will be grandsons and Paul Armstrong, and Charles McLemore.
The family extends special thanks to the nursing staff and special friends at Meadowview Nursing Home.
