Makers Fair coming this Saturday at The Farm

by Will Phillips

Various vendors and artisans will be selling all sorts of handmade goods this Saturday at the Minden Makers Fair.

It is back again this year, taking place at The Farm of Cultural Crossroads, located at the corner of Talton and Union streets.  Those in attendance will find a selection of over forty maker booths, children’s art stations, free workshops, an interactive row with LSUS, and demonstrations throughout the day.

The workshops do require people to sign-up beforehand, which can be done by going to www.mindenmakersfair.com and looking under the “Workshop Registration” tab.

The sponsors for this event are Minden Family Dental, Graf Orthodontics, & Pediatric Dentistry, Catherine Hunt of Lindsey Realty, The Artful Hen Chris Broussard, Litton Mortgage, & R&V Works.

Demonstrations will include a variety of activities including a slack-line, a potter’s wheel and more.

Also, there will be plenty of free events for children to enjoy as well, including face-painting, balloon sculptures, and On the Go Petting Zoo will open at noon.

“Minden Makers Fair invites the public to experience their community in a new way through art, food and activities for all ages. Admission is free, but be sure to bring money to support our vendors,” read their press release.

The event will take place Saturday, Oct. 19, from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. at The Farm of Cultural Crossroads.
