A 35-year-old man was arrested February 1 following a reported incident of indecent exposure in the parking lot of a local Walmart, according to a Minden Police Department report.
Officers were first notified at 6:46 AM after a Walmart manager reported an encounter while sitting in her vehicle waiting to clock in for work. The woman told police a small black car pulled alongside her, then moved forward and backed up, stopping directly in front of her vehicle. When she rolled down her window to hear what the driver was saying, the man repeatedly apologized before opening his driver’s side door and exposing himself, police said. The woman reported the man then performed a sexual act in her presence before leaving the scene.
The woman was able to obtain the vehicle’s license plate number, which officers said matched a vehicle seen on Walmart security cameras, corroborating her account.
A little after 8AM, officers located the vehicle at a Love’s truck stop and conducted a traffic stop. After being advised of his rights, Washington told officers he was the only person who had been in the vehicle and said he had recently returned from New Mexico, police said.
The Walmart manager was later transported to the area and positively identified Washington as the suspect, according to the report.
During the traffic stop, Washington reportedly spontaneously stated he had a marijuana blunt inside the vehicle. Officers observed one marijuana blunt in plain view in the center console area.
Police said Dominic Washington was taken into custody at 8:36 AM and charged with obscenity and possession of Schedule I marijuana.
All subjects are considered innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
