Mary Evelyn Pittman Morrison was the fourth child of Edward and Clotile Pittman. She is survived by her three children, Cynthia Morrison of New Orleans, Steven Morrison of New Orleans, and Kristin Morrison-Krouse (Phillip) of Minden, La. She is also survived by her two grandchildren, Lukas and Sydney Krouse who were absolutely the light of her life.
Additionally, she is survived by siblings: Thelma Walker of Knoxville, TN., Fran Jones (Dale) of Bossier City, Elbert Pittman (
Wanda) of Minden, Linda Bohn (John) of Dubberly, Victoria Kennedy (
Ron) of Byhalia, MS, Marc Pittman (Annette) of Shreveport, Karon Hanushek (Ken) of Sulphur Springs, TX,, Julia Baldwin of Daphne, AL, Kathaleen Pittman of Shreveport, Dr. Michelle Pittman (John) of Monticello, AR., Lynn Pittman-Cooley (Brent) of Dubberly, and numerous nieces and nephews.
She is preceded in death by her parents, sisters Juanita Strickland, and Shirley Smiley, and brothers Edward Pittman, Jr. and Bill Pittman.
Mary Evelyn was a graduate of Dubberly High School and attended NSU in Natchitoches, LA, maintaining close friendships from both schools throughout her life. With best friend, Kay Roland Simolke, she founded the Dubberly Divas, an unofficial social club, actively involved in Rowland, community affairs.
Not one to limit herself, she attended Felllowship Baptist Church and Brushwood Methodist Church, both of Dubberly. Mary Evelyn had many interests, including La. Tech women’s basketball, NOLA Saints, LSU football, travel, reading, cross stitching, canning/preserving produce, and any area fish fry or fund raiser. Her favorite activities always featured her grandchildren.
Services for Mary Evelyn will be at Brushwood Methodist Church on Saturday, Aug 17 at 1100. Visitation will be from 9-11 am. Rose-Neath Funeral Home in Minden, La. Is assisting with arrangements.
