Minden High School crowned its 2016 MHS Darling Mazie Lee Saturday.
Lee, who was also named people’s choice, says she is honored to represent her school.
“I’m very excited,” she said. “I’m so honored to be representing my school like this. I really am. I’m just so honored. Throughout my year, I hope to volunteer for many community service projects. I’d love to volunteer at the Joe LeBlanc Food Pantry more than I already am. I’m just so overwhelmed, and I just can’t wait to see what’s coming.”Lee is the daughter of Greg and Angel Lee. She is a Louisi-Anne manager, student council sophomore senator, a member of the Future Farmers of America and a member of First Priority. She is also an “A” honor roll and principal’s list student.
She is a volunteer at Redeemed Ranch Camp, children’s summer camp, and an active member of Unshackled Student Ministry. She is a member of the Christian Church at Minden and participates in the dinner theatre at First Baptist Church in Minden. She is also a volunteer with JLFP.
When she graduates, she plans to attend Louisiana State University and major in biology, specializing in pediatric oncology.
Charite Weston brought home the Miss Congeniality award. Jacie Brent was named Miss Photogenic, and winning best interview was Anna Tucker.2016 Little Darlings were Makenzie Palmer, Ava Martin, Briley Cupples, Kylie Ferguson, Gemi Robinson, Zoe Lee, Kullyn Chanler, Falynn Ervin, Kyleena Coleman, Turner Wilson, Lyla Huddleston, Bethanie Dubose, Ja’Nyla Montgomery and Summer Day.
Serving as escorts for the contestants were Glenn Hamilton, Josh Wilkins, Will Martin, Cole Dollar, Wesley Dennis, Aiden Mealey, Benton Lewis, Brent Franklin, Malcolm Blalock, Brendon Scott, Patrick Heard, Austin Carter and Andre’ Moore Jr.
