The Springhill-North Webster Chamber of Commerce is proud to announce that Dr. Wayne McMahen has been chosen as Christmas Parade Grand Marshal. The Chamber Parade is set to roll on Saturday, November 24, 2018 at 5:00 PM with a fun theme of “Christmas Melodies”. The parade will start at South Main Mall and proceed north on Main Street turning right on Clinic Street and then turning right on 1st Street and continue back to the Mall parking lot. Everyone is encouraged to attend Christmas on Main events starting at 9:00 am. There will be arts & crafts, food booths, a Coco Crawl, music, shopping with our Main Street businesses, and many more activities. Santa Claus will visit all the good boys and girls at the ACE Dance Studio on Main Street from 2 PM until 4 PM.
Dr. McMahen is a lifelong resident of Springhill and now serves as State Representative for District 10. Dr. McMahen graduated from the LSU School of Veterinary Medicine and returned home to practice at the clinic his father had established. He continued to practice at McMahen Veterinary Hospital until his retirement. Wayne is a lifetime member of LA Cattleman’s Association where he served as Parish President and District Vice-President. He is a member of the Springhill Masonic Lodge #348. He also serves on the board of Citizens National Bank and Springhill Medical Center. Wayne serves as a deacon at Central Baptist Church.
Dr. McMahen is married to Beverly Stuart McMahen. He is the father to Megan Colvin and her husband, Matt Colvin, Stuart McMahen and wife Nancy, and Marci Dones and husband Jason Dones. He has three grandchildren Landry Colvin, Camaron Colvin, and Benicio Dones.
Again, the Chamber encourages everyone to come out and enjoy the day to kick off the Christmas season with Christmas on Main activities starting at 9 AM and ending with the Christmas parade at 5:00 PM!
