The tradition of Minden’s charitable heart continues.
Planning for the 13th annual Minden Charity Classic Golf Tournament, which is set for June 3, 4 and 5 is underway. The tournament is designed to serve as a vehicle to establish funds for locals in need of financial assistance.
Since May of 2004, the Minden Charity Classic organization has distributed over $350,000 to more than 240 in the Minden and Webster Parish area. This assistance was made to adults and children who were devastated by house fires and catastrophic illnesses, in need of handicap-related aid, or were affected by various other tribulations.
“This is a wonderful opportunity for the citizens of Minden and surrounding communities to pull together and raise money for local people in need of financial aid,” said MCC Chairman Mike Harper. “We want to address needs that are many times overlooked. We as a community are known for our generosity, and our board is confident that this project will be successful.”
The golf tournament, sponsored by MBL Bank and other sponsors, will be held at Minden’s Pine Hills Country Club.
Minden Charity Classic is inviting businesses and individuals to show their support through sponsorships. The $1,000 commitment includes one two-person team (value of $500) and many others gifts and privileges.
Signup is limited to 60 teams.
The first place team will receive a $1,500 cash prize, second place will be $1,000, third place will be $750 and fourth place will take home $500.
