Minden could have a new Downtown Development Director if the city council says yes.
The Minden City Council will meet in a special session Wednesday to vote on the hire.
Mayor Tommy Davis is recommending former Minden City Court Clerk Rebecca C. White for the position.
Davis says White is a good fit for the position.
“She’s had a very stable employment with Minden City Court under (retired) Judge John C. Campbell and has a business and accounting background,” Davis said. “ I think she will be real good for downtown Minden.”
If approved, the hire will come on the heels of the council hiring Economic Development Director James Graham at the August meeting.
The City of Minden has been without a Downtown Development Director since December 2014 when Davis fired Pattie Odom.
The meeting will take place at 1:30 p.m. in the Pelican Conference Room at City Hall and is open to the public.
