Minden City Council to meet today for workshop, regular session

The Minden City Council will convene Monday, January 5, for a workshop and regular session at Minden City Hall, 520 Broadway St.

The workshop is scheduled to begin at 5 PM in the Pelican Conference Room. Agenda items include reports and presentations from Christa Hawkins, executive director of HOPE Connections; City Clerk Melaney Langford with the November 2025 budget report; Mayor Nicholas A. Cox on miscellaneous city matters; Police Chief Jared McIver with the November 2025 police report; and Fire Chief Brian Williams with the December 2025 fire report.

The regular council session will follow at 6 PM in the City Hall Council Chambers.

Items listed on the regular session agenda include adoption of minutes from the December 1, 2025, workshop and regular session; election of a mayor pro tempore for 2026; adoption of a resolution authorizing signatory power to sign checks; and awarding Bid No. 01-2026 for the City of Minden two-million-gallon ground storage tank.

Also scheduled for consideration are authority to advertise for bids for one Altec AT48M, or equivalent, bucket truck for Department 40; authority for Mayor Cox to accept Conterra Networks Quote No. 38111-Q-48575 and execute all necessary documents; and a Minden Planning Commission appeal regarding property at 1397 Sheppard St.

Additional agenda items include the November 2025 budget and financial report, the December 2025 fire report and the November 2025 police report.
