Minden Civitans Go To Vicksburg

Several members of the Minden Civitan Club recently attended the Magnolia District Convention in Vicksburg , Mississippi. Magnolia District Governor Patsy Young called the meeting to order and greeted all Civitans from the Magnolia District to the convention. Next Vicksburg mayor, Gailyn Williams, also welcomed everyone to town and encouraged the Civitans to return any time for a visit. Opening prayer was given by Clayton Guidry and everyone joined in saying the Civitan Creed lead by Minden Civitan Roger Grubbs. Civitan International had two representatives at the convention, club building expert Mary Frances Colley and telling everyone about current updates from International was Julia Floyd. Jewel Stewart was elected as Governor Elect for the 2020 – 2021 Civitan year. The Vicksburg Visitors Bureau provided a guided tour of the Lower Mississippi River Museum and later a banquet was held and the installation of officers followed. Incoming Civitan Governor Wayne Taylor closed out the meeting. Magnolia District Jr. Civitans attending were Christina Lee and Minden’s Ethan Jeffus. Minden Civitan members attending the meeting were Steve and Janis Bryan, Bill and Margie Barnett, Johnny and Denise McCormick, and Roger and Judy Grubbs.
