Minden took care of business at home with a 73-34 win on Friday night over North DeSoto at The Palace.
“I was pleased with our effort on both sides of the ball,” Minden head coach Rennie Bailey said.
The Crimson Tide knew heading into the game that they had superior talent, but Bailey said that underestimating opponents has been a problem before.
“I was happy to know that we can go into a game like this, knowing we should win, and then go out there and execute,” he said.
The Tide improve to 11-10 overall this season and 3-3 in District 1-4A.
The win puts Minden at fourth in district, one game back of Huntington, and one game ahead of Tuesday night’s opponent: Booker T. Washington.
“We are going to be ready for Tuesday,” Bailey said. “They beat us at their place by one, so we owe them something.”
Zi Crawford led the Tide against North DeSoto (2-17, 06) with 12 points. Kendrick Crawford, Curtis Carter, and Milford Parker all added eight points each.
Minden is now 3-1 in 2019 and are picking up momentum.
This week begins a difficult stretch of their schedule though, as they gear up for consecutive games against Bossier (20-3, 6-0) and Woodlawn (24-6, 7-1).
The first part of that test comes on Tuesday night in the rematch with BTW.
