Minden Mayor Nick Cox officially proclaimed April 6 as Scottish Tartan Day in anticipation of the upcoming Scottish Tartan Festival scheduled for April 20 at Miller Quarters.
The declaration comes in support of the rich Scottish heritage in the area. Joined by President Stephen Webb of the Scottish Society of the Louisiana Highlands and Festival Chair Shelia Hoh, Mayor Cox emphasized the festival’s role in showcasing Scottish traditions, including music, dance, and cuisine.
The Scottish Tartan Festival, a highlight of the local calendar, promises a vibrant celebration of Scottish culture and is expected to draw visitors from near and far to partake in the festivities.
