Minden fire, police ready to play ball for St. Jude

by Minden Press-Herald

The Minden Police Department and the Minden Fire Department are all set to duke it out in the second installment of their “Battle of the Badges” softball game.

Last year, the two departments united with the intent to put their heads together and come up with a fun and competitive way to expand on Minden’s generous contributions to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.

These brave officers and firemen are hoping that this year’s contest will draw an even larger crowd, and in turn raise even more money for St. Jude.

The ball game will take place at the Minden Recreation Complex and will feature two games this year, as well as a home run derby.

Admission is only $5 and T-shirts commemorating the event will be sold on site for just $20.
Party Express will cater food for the event and Coca-Cola will provide beverages.

“This is all for such a good cause,” said Adam Bradley of the Minden Fire Department. “All profits go straight to St. Jude. We can’t wait to play.”

The two teams will take the field at 7 p.m. Thursday night. Be sure to come out and show your support for the badges and St. Jude.
