Minden Junior Service League adds a twist to annual fundraiser with ‘Grinch Your Yard’ event

by Amber McDown

The Minden Junior Service League is gearing up to infuse the holiday season with a playful touch of mischief through its latest fundraising initiative: “Grinch Your Yard.” Departing from previous years’ traditions, this event will bring the Grinch, accompanied by his loyal sidekick Max, into residents’ yards for a memorable surprise.

Designed to spread holiday cheer while supporting a meaningful cause, the event will allow families to book a night for the Grinch’s appearance. Children can wake up to discover the Grinch himself, lurking in their yard to add a touch of whimsical fun to their morning.

All proceeds from the “Grinch Your Yard” initiative will benefit the Minden St. Jude Auction. The event requires a minimum $25 donation, with any additional contributions warmly welcomed. Each donation will directly contribute to the annual fundraiser aimed at supporting the St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, which is dedicated to advancing treatment and cures for pediatric diseases.

With limited slots available, the Minden Junior Service League encourages residents to secure their bookings early. “It’s a fun way to bring the community together, spark joy, and support a great cause,” said event organizers.
