A Minden man was arrested on February 27 following a domestic dispute involving his girlfriend and her son.
According to police reports, officers were dispatched to the home of Rudy Quinonez, 29, in response to a complaint. Upon arrival, they found Quinonez sitting on his front porch steps. Quinonez informed officers that he and his girlfriend were at McDonald’s with her son when an argument ensued. His girlfriend allegedly became upset and demanded Quinonez exit the vehicle. When he refused, she reportedly slapped him.
In his statement to the police, Quinonez admitted to hitting Jones in reaction to being struck and also confessed to pulling her hair while still in the vehicle. She then dropped Quinonez off at home.
The girlfriend’s mother informed the authorities that she was taking her daughter to the hospital due to a broken nose allegedly inflicted by Quinonez. At the hospital, the girlfriend recounted the events, stating that the altercation escalated after they picked up her son from school and went to McDonald’s. According to her, Quinonez grabbed her hair and she retaliated with a slap. Despite her attempts to make him exit the vehicle, Quinonez refused. Upon returning home, Quinonez allegedly punched her repeatedly in the face, causing severe facial trauma and blood loss.
Quinonez was subsequently arrested and transported to the Minden Police Department for booking, pending transfer to the Bayou Dorcheat Correctional Center. He faces charges of domestic abuse with child endangerment.
