A Minden man was arrested December 27 following an investigation into a reported domestic incident and stolen cellphone, according to a Minden police report.
Officers were dispatched around 9:25 AM in reference to a stolen cellphone complaint. The victim reported that around 7 AM she and her boyfriend, Keyshawn Mason, 22, became involved in a verbal argument stemming from the previous night. She told police the argument continued after he began preparing to leave for work.
The victim stated she returned to bed with her two minor children when Mason came into the bedroom, pressed a firearm against her head and threatened her. She reported she slapped the gun away and told Mason to leave the residence. Mason then left on foot.
After he departed, the victim said she discovered her cellphone was missing and reported Mason had taken it without permission.
Police later located Mason at a business in the 300 block of Homer Road, where he was detained. Officers recovered a handgun equipped with a device that converts it into a fully automatic firearm, along with a loaded magazine, from a backpack in Mason’s possession.
Mason was transported to the Minden Police Department and booked on charges of domestic abuse battery with child endangerment, theft, aggravated assault and possession of a machine gun.
All subjects are considered innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
