The Minden Planning Commission unanimously approved a parking variance for Walmart. The big box retailer is looking to slightly reduce parking spaces to build a separate building in the side parking lot. The building will be used for training employees from around the region and is one of hundreds that Walmart is building across the country. Walmart communications director Anne Hatfield said the training facility will help insure more consistent, accurate and sustainable training to for associates. Bruce Franklin/Press-Herald
