Minden power outage now officialy scheduled for Thursday night

by Will Phillips

After another conference call Tuesday evening regarding the Entergy Substation fire and its subsequent repairs, a time and date have been set for the city-wide power outage. The power outage is now scheduled to take place this Thursday night, starting at 10 PM and scheduled to last roughly six hours.

“The agreed-upon plan involves implementing a controlled power outage across the entire City on Thursday, August 3rd, starting at 10:00 PM. The outage is anticipated to last between 4-6 hours,” said Mayor Nick Cox.

“The purpose of this controlled outage is to bypass the damaged section of the substation and then restore power to the City of Minden. By doing so, the necessary repairs can be carried out safely, allowing for safe and non-urgent repairs to be conducted on the substation.”

They also asked citizens to please note that this planned outage is essential for ensuring the long-term stability and functionality of the substation, and thanks the citizens of Minden for their patience and understanding.
