by Will Phillips

It was announced on the official Minden St. Jude Auction’s Facebook page that the theme for this year’s auction is “Minden St. Jude Corral,” taking up a western cowboy aesthetic. They also announced that the auction will be taking place the weekend of Feb. 4 through 7.

“Giddy up, Minden! Kick off your boots, saddle up your horses and meet us {virtually} at the Minden St. Jude Corral!” read a statement from the auction.

“We are excited to announce that the Minden St. Jude Auction will still be taking place in 2021! However, there will be changes due to the Coronavirus Pandemic.”

Currently they have not released details as to the specific changes taking place to the in person event at the Civic Center. However the St. Jude Auction has a variety of different ways for people to tune in, including KASO AM/KBEF FM on the radio, local cable, and the recent addition of online streaming at their website mindenstjude.com.

There people can also pre-order the t-shirts for this year’s auction, as well as keep tabs on what items are being added to the raffle.

“The City of Minden, Louisiana and surrounding communities contribute more money per capita to St. Jude than any other city in the United States. $1,652,889.00 was raised during the 2020 Auction for the kids at the St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital,” their website reads.
