Minden to participate in Love the Boot Week cleanup

by Amber McDown

The City of Minden is inviting residents and organizations to take part in a communitywide cleanup and beautification effort as part of Love the Boot Week, scheduled for April 18–26, 2026.

The initiative is being organized in partnership with the organization Keep Louisiana Beautiful and will include litter removal and beautification projects throughout the city.

City officials are encouraging businesses, schools, churches, nonprofits, civic groups, neighborhoods, and individuals to form teams and participate in the effort to help keep Minden clean.

“We’re excited to partner with Keep Louisiana Beautiful and participate in #LoveTheBoot Week,” said Sarah Overall, director of economic development and Main Street for the City of Minden. “Only together can we keep Louisiana beautiful.”

This year’s event is also being held in recognition of the upcoming 250th anniversary of the United States. Organizers are asking residents to show their pride in both the nation and the local community by volunteering for cleanup projects across the city.

Participants may register their own cleanup projects or volunteer for designated efforts organized by the city.

Overall encouraged residents to take part in the effort with friends and family.

“Grab a friend, bring the family, and come lend a hand as we work together to keep our hometown clean and welcoming,” she said.
