A Walmart employee was arrested Thursday in connection with theft from the store, according to local police.
Officer Anderson responded to a call at Walmart on Homer Road at 4:58 PM, where loss prevention agent David Gears reported observing employee Khalia Hudson, 20, taking items without paying. During an interview with Gears, Hudson admitted to previously stealing approximately $280 worth of goods and to taking an additional $60 worth of items that day.
Hudson, who is seven months pregnant, later confirmed the theft in a body cam-recorded statement, explaining that she took the items for household needs. She was taken into custody without incident, handcuffed in the front due to her pregnancy, and transported to the Minden Police Department for booking. Hudson was subsequently transferred to Bayou Dorcheat Correctional Center after failing to make bond.
In addition to the theft charge, Hudson had an outstanding warrant for simple criminal damage to property.
All subjects are considered innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
