The 39th annual MLK/Black History Parade will roll through downtown Minden on Saturday at 11 AM, continuing the city’s observance held under the theme “Lift every voice. Live every dream.”
Hosted by the MLK Celebration Committee, the parade is expected to feature local schools, churches, organizations and community groups honoring the life and legacy of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. while celebrating Black history and culture.
Serving as grand marshal for this year’s parade is Lessie Brown, who will lead participants along the downtown route.
The annual parade provides an opportunity for residents to gather in a spirit of unity and celebration, highlighting community pride and the ongoing impact of Dr. King’s message of equality, service and perseverance.
The parade will begin at 11 AM Saturday in downtown Minden. Residents are encouraged to line the route and support participants as the community comes together for the annual event.
