A 40-year-old man was arrested February 16 after officers responded to a report of a person sleeping behind a Pearl Street business, according to a Minden Police Department report.
Officers were dispatched to Pearl Street behind Underdawgs restaurant in reference to a homeless individual sleeping behind the building. Upon arrival, officers made contact with Peter Louis, 40.
Police said Louis had previously been advised not to sleep behind local businesses because of concerns from business owners and customers. The department reported receiving multiple calls about Louis allegedly disrupting various businesses in the area.
According to the report, officers had previously transported Louis to Shreveport in an effort to assist him in obtaining housing through Hope Rescue. However, he later returned to Minden.
Louis was taken into custody without incident, advised of his rights and transported to the Minden Police Department for booking. He is expected to be transferred to Bayou Dorcheat Correctional Center.
Louis was charged with criminal trespass and criminal mischief.
All subjects are considered innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
