More than $18,000 was raised for Weeks, who is currently undergoing chemotherapy to battle stage-four lung cancer recently had the lower part of her left leg amputated. Pam Chapman, who spearheaded the event, said the goal was to sell 1,000 tickets, but that goal was exceeded. Weeks said she felt blessed by the turnout and thankful for living in such a giving city. Chapman thanked everyone that gave his or her time and donated to help pull the event together. Friends of Eastside Missionary Baptist Church, Hugh Wood Catering, Brady Dunn, McCoy, Amee Hospice along with many others donated, Chapman said.
