The 43rd Annual Mt Olive Christian School Rodeo is set to take place this weekend, bringing two nights of rodeo action to Gantt Arena in Athens.
The event will be held Friday, July 25, and Saturday, July 26, with events beginning each night at 8 PM. Admission is $10 for general entry, $8 in advance, and free for children ages 6 and under. Attendees who participate in the grand entry on horseback will also be admitted free of charge.
Sanctioned by the ARA, LRCA, and UPRA, the rodeo will feature traditional competitions including bareback riding, saddle bronc, bull riding, barrel racing, steer wrestling, calf roping, breakaway roping, and team roping.
The Mt Olive Christian School Rodeo serves as a fundraiser for the school, combining family entertainment with support for local education.
