Multiple crashes plague Friday

A rollover crash on Germantown Road, just outside the city limits, is still under investigation. Webster Parish Sheriff Gary Sexton says the driver of the vehicle left the scene, and as of Friday afternoon, he has not been located. Minden Police responded to a two-vehicle crash on Homer Road Friday around 1:30 p.m. Police say Aubrey Pyrause, of San Pedro, Texas, driving a four-door white Ford car, attempted to turn left from Morris Drive onto Homer Road. She reportedly hit Yon Hafer, of Minden, driving a red Dodge Durango as he was traveling east on Homer Road. A passenger in the white Ford was transported to Minden Medical Center for mild to moderate injuries. Pyrause was cited for failure to yield.  Michelle Bates/Press-Herald

A Minden man was transported to Minden Medical Center for minor injuries following a crash on Talton Street Friday morning. Police say Charles Hewitt apparently dozed off behind the wheel following an all-night shift. Headed north on Talton Street at approximately 9:30 a.m., towards East Union, the preliminary investigation revealed he left the roadway, hit a tree and took out a fence, coming to rest sideways on the side of Talton Street.
