Kat Murphy is the 18-year-old daughter of David and Lisa Murphy.
She is currently a freshman at Louisiana Tech University, majoring in biology.
In high school, Kat was a member of the MHS Louisi-Annes, Student Council, National Honors’ Society, Nature Club and Quizbowl.
She a member of the Louisiana Tech BCM and Alpha Epsilon Delta.
In the future, she plans to go to medical school and become a geneticist or biological researcher.
The Miss Minden Pageant will be at 7 p.m., Saturday, Dec. 5 at the Minden Civic Center.
Tickets are $10 and on sale at Al-N-Way Cleaners, located at 410 Homer Road. Children two years of age and under get in free. Tickets will also be available at the door the day of the pageant.
