The City of Minden’s Light and Water Department will be abiding by new hours of operation. Starting Monday, Oct. 25, the department’s main office will operate Monday through Friday from 8 AM to 3 PM. The drive-thru window will be open Monday through Friday from 8 AM to 4 PM.
These changes are a result of an employee retirement and the city decided it would be best to leave the position vacant while operating with a reduced budget.
“With the recent retirement of an Employee in the light and water department, we are making some changes to the hours of operation. As all of you know we are working on a 50% budget in all departments. Until we pass a budget we have chosen not to replace this position to conserve on payroll,” a statement from Mayor Terry Gardner read.
“We will start the new times this Monday the 25th. This will give the ladies time to balance their windows and still stay efficient.”
