Former Minden High and Louisiana Tech star L’Jarius Sneed is a Super Bowl champion.
There was some question about the third-year Kansas City Chiefs cornerback’s status after being limited in practice Thursday with a reported knee injury. That came after he cleared concussion protocol after being injured in the AFC Championship Game.
But Sneed recorded three solo tackles and seven total in a 38-35 victory over the Philadelphia Eagles in Super Bowl LVII on Sunday at State Farm Stadium in Glendale, Ariz.
He also was credited with two passes defended.
The Chiefs rallied from a 24-14 halftime deficit. Harrison Butker’s 27-yard field goal with 8 seconds left broke at 35-all tie.
Kansas City quarterback Patrick Mahomes, who appeared to tweak an ankle injury just before halftime, complained 21 of 27 passes for 182 yards and three touchdowns with no interceptions.
The Chiefs had 158 yards rushing led by Isaac Pacheco’s 76 on 15 carries.
Philadelphia quarterback Jalen Hurts completed 27 of 38 passes for 304 yards and one touchdown with no interceptions.
He also rushed for 70 on 15 carries and scored three TDs. Hurts’ one fumble was returned for a touchdown.
