NLTCC to celebrate Louisiana Community College Week

by Amber McDown

Northwest Louisiana Technical Community College (NLTCC) is celebrating Louisiana Community College Week across its three campuses from April 8 to April 12. The college is one of 12 institutions within the Louisiana Office of Student Financial Assistance (LOSFA) system participating in this statewide event.

Louisiana Community College Week serves to educate individuals of all ages about the various colleges, the programs they offer, and the potential career pathways these programs can lead to.

On April 11, NLTCC’s Minden campus will host a range of activities, including campus tours from 9 AM to noon, “Coffee with the Chancellor” from 9 AM to 9:30 AM, free health screenings and vitals checks, and more.

The Louisiana community and technical college system has gained national recognition for its innovative and workforce-focused education and training programs, making it one of the most productive and fastest-growing two-year college systems in the country. NLTCC offers training programs for high-demand professions such as powerline workers, plumbers, welders, and licensed practical nurses.

Established in 1936, Northwest Louisiana Technical Community College is part of the Louisiana Community and Technical College System. NLTCC has three campuses: Minden (with an auxiliary campus on Camp Minden), Mansfield, and Shreveport.
