Minden Police and the Minden Fire Department responded to a vehicle crash at the Valero Station on Sibley Road just before lunch Tuesday. A vehicle, driven by 84-year-old Rosa Pearce of Minden, crashed into a parked Waller Petroleum tanker truck. The Chevy Impala caught fire, and MFD extinguished the blaze. Police say Pearce was leaving the gas pump area, when for an unknown reason, she appeared to have accelerated into the truck coming to rest nearly underneath it. Officers say Pearce was transported to Minden Medical Center for precautionary measures. The cause of the crash remains under investigation, and as of press time, no citations have been issued.
