Darrell Hughes, a teacher at North Webster Upper Elementary, was recognized as Employee of the Month during the Webster Parish School Board’s regular meeting February 2.
Hughes received the award from Kevin Thompson of Taylor and Sons in recognition of his work with students and staff at the school.
In a letter of recommendation submitted on his behalf, Hughes was praised for his commitment to student learning and involvement in school activities.
“I would like to recommend Mr. Hughes as teacher of the month because he always goes above and beyond for his students. He makes learning fun with creative lessons and hands-on activities that help everyone understand new ideas. He takes extra time to help students who need help and celebrates every success no matter how small. He also works very well with all of his co-workers and is always willing to lend a hand whenever someone needs help. In addition to classroom support and work, he attends school events like Fall Game Day, PBIS events, and Field Day.”
The recognition highlights the important role teachers play in supporting both student achievement and campus involvement throughout the school year.
