North Webster got huge performances on both sides of the ball en route to a 26-23 win over St. James Friday night in Springhill.

The Knights advance to the third round of the playoffs with the win and will take on #1 Iota on the road next Friday. Iota beat Baker 24-14 in their second round game on Friday night.

Tyrell Markray found Scottie Johnson for three touchdown passes, and Eddie Rollen scored the other on a 22-yard run in the first quarter.

North Webster led 26-15 in the fourth quarter on Scottie Johnson’s third touchdown catch. But St. James responded immediately on a 10-yard touchdown run by Shamar Smith. The Wildcats converted a two-point conversion that brought them to within three points.

On the next possession, North Webster fumbled on a bad snap and gave the ball right back to St. James. But the Knights came up with one of many massive defensive stops and forced the Wildcats to turn the ball over on downs.

North Webster dug out a first down with less than two minutes to play and ran out the clock for the win.

The Knights are now 8-4 this season.
