It happened in the westbound lanes near mile marker 52, near the La. Hwy. 532 exit just before 1 a.m. Thursday.
One person is dead following an overnight crash on Interstate 20.

According to reports, a tractor-trailer rig left the roadway and crashed into trees before catching fire.
The cause remains under investigation by the Louisiana State Police.
The crash kept the westbound lanes down to one lane until late morning as crews worked to clear the scene.
