Funeral services for Mrs. Patricia Crahen Hanson, age 89, of Cotton Valley, LA will be held at 2:00 pm, Wednesday, September 13, 2023 at the Unity Baptist Church, Cotton Valley, LA with Bro. Craig James officiating. Interment will follow in Cotton Valley Cemetery, Cotton Valley, LA under the direction of Bailey Funeral Home, Springhill, LA.
Visitation will be held Wednesday, September 13, 2023, 1:00 pm – 2:00 pm at Unity Baptist Church.
Mrs. Hanson was born on April 7, 1934 to James Edward and Isabelle Young Crahen in Oshkosh, WI and passed away on Monday, September 11, 2023 in Bossier City, LA.
Immediately following high school, Pat moved to California to live. She began working for a telephone company there. She later came to Shreveport and worked for a short time at Selber Bros. Department Store. She began her life career at South Central Bell Telephone Company in Shreveport, where she worked for 28 years before retiring in 1987. While working at South Central Bell Telephone Company, Pat made many close friends who fellowshipped regularly together throughout her three decades of retirement.
She is survived by her husband of 45 years, Mr. James Edward Hanson of Cotton Valley, LA; two sisters, Cleo Mary Smoot of Neenah, WI, Jacqueline Parish of Oshkosh, WI; step-son, Eddie Gene Hanson of Cotton Valley, LA; two step-daughters, Lynnie Dragland and husband, Thomas of Benton, AR, Pennye Rose Wood of Cotton Valley, LA; daughter in-law, Barbara Hanson of Cotton Valley, LA; a host of step-grand and great-grandchildren, as well as a host of nieces and nephews.
Mrs. Hanson was preceded in death by her father, James Edward Crahen, mother, Isabelle Crahen; brothers, James Edward Crahen, Jr., and Larry David Crahen; and step-son, Teddie Lee Hanson.
Pallbearers will be Tommy Dragland, Josh Hanson, Brad Hanson, Micah Hanson, Randall Parish, and Michael Domer. Honorary pallbearers will be Chuck Hoffman, Donald Ray Perkins, and Ellis Dick.
