A man who reportedly stole some items while helping the victim move has surrendered to police.

Terrance Edwards, 34, of the 10 block of Mason Street in Dixie Inn, turned himself into Minden Police around 10 a.m. Thursday on a warrant for illegal possession of stolen things. Bond was set at $35,000.

Police Chief Steve Cropper says Edwards was hired by a local man to help his sister move from Texas.

“During the process of helping this woman move from Texas, without permission, took some items from her and brought them back to Minden and pawned them,” he said. “It was reported that $2,600 worth of items were stolen.”

Among the items were several pieces of jewelry, he said.

The items were located by police at the pawn shop and an arrest warrant was obtained.

Edwards turned himself in, was arrested and transported to Bayou Dorcheat Correctional Center.
