We are in the middle of revival at our church, and it has been amazing. If you have never been to a revival, you need to make it one of your goals to attend one. God will bless you for sure.
Today I am sharing something with you that I feel lead to share. If this helps one person then I have done my job.
God has opened my eyes up this week in so many areas in my life. My family and I live a fast-paced life — always doing and going somewhere. Isn’t that how most of us live nowadays? It feels like sometimes we don’t even have time to brush our teeth.
I made a promise to myself at the first of the year that I was going to pray more, spend time in the Word more and slow down. Well, I have gotten two of those three down, now I am still working on slowing down.
I am not much of a complainer. I do have my moments. But, for the most part, I keep it to myself. I try only to vent to my husband.
It was brought to our attention by the evangelist this week when he asked, “Why do some people complain so much?” Many are complaining about things they are allowing to happen. People don’t realize they have control over their own lives. People don’t have to live that way. People can decide to make a change.
“Change is hard!” you may say. Yes it sure is. My question is, “Wouldn’t you rather make a change than keep going through the same old stuff that is making you miserable?”
Another thought I had was that some people give the devil too much credit. The devil didn’t make anyone do half of the stuff they do.
Often, our flesh is what leads to bad choices.. We need to stop the stinking thinking! It is time to stop and think things before taking action. What will be the consequences? How will I pay for the choices I make? Will this put a strain on my marriage? Will this bring glory to God? It is time to stop the stinking thinking all the time. It’s time to stop being negative about everything.
People need to stop complaining what they let in the front door.
The devil already has figured out that people keep doing the same thing over and over. The devil doesn’t have anything new up his sleeves. He keeps getting folks with the same ole thing.
Along those lines, I believe it is time for us as parents to take control of our lives and our household. We need to stop allowing our children to watch things that aren’t good for their spiritual walk.
We are responsible for ourselves first, and then we are responsible for our children. They watch everything we do. Don’t think you are sneaking and doing something they don’t see. Somehow, they see everything. We want better for ourselves. We really want better for our children.
I have heard this a hundred times in life, “Don’t do as I do, Do as I say.” This doesn’t work. It didn’t work when I was a child and it won’t work now.
Most do not realize it, but there a lot of people that respect and look up to each of us. We can’t go around being knuckleheads, doing the things we do, and expect of others to go along with it.
We don’t need to act miserable all the time. Life is short — too Short in some cases. It is time for us to stand up for ourselves, no matter where we are, and let the Holy Ghost lead all areas of our lives.
It’s time to start hanging out with positive people. Get the negative things out of our lives.
Maybe it is time for a new chapter in your life. Are you going to have bad days in life? You sure are. But how you respond to them is up to you.
As my pastor has said many times, “I am having a top shelf kind of day.” Does he always? No but no one ever knows it. He chooses to live life to the fullest and trust God in everything.
I decided a long time ago, this world is not my home! I am just traveling through on my way to my forever home. I want to enjoy the journey until I get there.
